Dennis Wey, 25, works in watch assembly—and is giving away the NOMOS golden gift set including a sundial and a fountain pen.
»Training to become a watchmaker was the first time in my life that I found it really easy to learn something. Because I find almost everything to do with handcraft to be exciting. During my studies, all three of my training placements were completed at NOMOS Glashütte. During the last one, I was asked if I would like to cover a nightshift. One nightshift led to more, and when the sun rose at the end of one shift, I was given a NOMOS sundial. Working nights is not the most popular shift pattern here, so the company gave it to me as a thank-you for my efforts. They really didn’t have to! After all, I’m a night owl: Cooking, cleaning, tidying—I prefer to do it all around 10 pm. These days I put together watches, setting the caliber in the case—which we call “the wedding.” And that’s what I work on during the day. I still wear the silver sundial. Not daily, but when I do, then all day and at night too.
Since I love having mine so much, I am giving away a NOMOS sundial as well, but a version in gold. And something else to complement it: an elegant black NOMOS fountain pen with a gold-plated nib.«
Too late, despite owning a good watch? Don’t be disappointed—you can also find this gift set in the NOMOS online store, just in time for the holidays.
