Benjamin Malchert, 37, polisher and finisher, is giving away a night’s stay in the NOMOS villa in Dresden.
»For my job, you have to be a perfectionist—and yet, you also have to know when to stop. Sometimes I think I could go on polishing the surfaces of our gold watches forever. Most of the time I’m finished after four to five hours. My eyes can’t cope with any more shine! I love the material I work with: It is soft and supple, and yet always offers a new challenge. That’s why I decided to become a goldsmith. The higher the karat, the more sensitive the material is. I always say that my wife is my golden girl. We met just after I finished my national civil service and joined NOMOS Glashütte as an intern. Now we have five children—and they’re a little wild and free-spirited at times. So the long periods of concentration I spend here at work are often the best time to recover from their antics.
My gift is one part of a special package that we offer here at NOMOS Glashütte: I’m giving away a one night stay at the famous NOMOS villa in Dresden, together with a guided tour through our workshops here in Glashütte. This offer is usually only available to customers who purchase one of our gold watches.«
Too late, despite owning a good watch? Don’t be disappointed—you can spend a few precious minutes discovering what makes our gold watches collection so special here.
